A major goal of mine this semester was to learn more about microinteractions and their impact on digital experiences! As a daily Duolingo user with a 1,000+ day streak, the app served as a strong inspiration for me due to its highly effective use of them.

I needed to understand what actually was a microinteraction? I investigated articles, books, videos, examples, best practices, etc. I then came to 3 main insights below.

I also needed to learn what did designing for the material handling industry feel like? I did a landscape analysis of many material handling websites, internal resources, and Crown products to analyze colors, feel, typefaces, visuals, etc.. I came to 3 main insights below.

Next, I needed an exact plan for where I would incorporate the microinteractions. I selected an already successful Duolingo flow as a base so I could focus on microinteraction creation, not the flow itself. I also created a style frame modeled after Crown’s branding and assembled quiz content for the selected flow.
